Hi there, I am Kishon Khan, a British Bangladeshi and grew up in North London., I am a Bangladeshi pianist and classical musician. I have been studying piano since I was 8 years old at the National School of Music in Dhaka, which is also where I graduated from. I was taught my father, Kamal Ali Khan, then trained in the United Kingdom with Richard Goode and later studied at Yale University under Paul Gulda. I attended the Juilliard School in New York for one year before returning to Bangladesh to finish my studies and make music there.
I wanted to be a musician from the time when i was 20 years old, lived in Cuba for a while. In 1999, i set up the Afro-Cuban funk jazz band Motimba. Finally, my Occupation(s) is a Pianist, Get fame for composer, music producer and a arranger.
My life Story:
I was born in a small village near Dhaka, Bangladesh. After finishing school i moved to Dhaka for my higher education where my studied at some of the best universities in Bangladesh. It wasn’t until much later that i discovered jazz music and fell in love with it’s sultry tones and rhythms. The more i listened, the more i wanted to learn about this genre and after many hours researching online, watching YouTube videos, listening to live performances while studying sheet music from various periods (jazz is a fusion type of musical style), trying out different techniques.
I had always been fascinated by the sounds of different types of music and at an early age started to learn how to play the piano. I had a passion for music and learning. I would often spend hours listening to my father’s records from all over the world while dreaming of what i could produce myself.
